Customer Review :

Great if you don't mind cutting steak crooked : Chicago Cutlery 18-Piece Insignia Steel Knife Set with Block and In-Block Sharpener
The knives needed a little sharpening before first use. When I went to use a steak knife for the first time, I noticed the blade was not straight with the handle. I checked other knives in the set too and found others were not aligned parallel with the handle. Looks like quality control in China was lacking during production of my set! The knives themselves look decent and cut well after a little sharpening. One knive had a tiny nick in the blade... not a huge deal. The block is nice and sturdy and attractive. I will call World Kitchens and get a few poor quality knives replaced under their "defect warranty". Not major flaw that requires complete set return, but none the less, disapointing for a $100+ knive set made in China. I think the Japanese- and Korean-made utensils are of better quality. I don't have the highest regard for this set... but they'll work and look nice after the crooked knives are replaced.... hence, a solid 2 1/2 stars.
